Accessibility Statement

How this site is built, where it falls short, and how to tell us if something blocks you.

Standard: WCAG 2.2 Level AA · Last updated:

A-BELLE Design and Build LLC is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboards, screen magnification, or other assistive technology. The site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Measures in place

  • The entire site can be operated by keyboard alone. Every link and button shows a visible focus indicator, and a "Skip to content" link is the first stop on every page.
  • Headings follow a logical order and describe the section they introduce, so pages can be navigated by structure rather than read end to end.
  • Body text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background. Large text, icons that carry meaning, and interface boundaries meet 3:1.
  • Images that convey information carry alternative text. Decorative images are marked so assistive technology skips them.
  • Every form field has a visible, programmatically associated label. Required fields are marked in text, not by color alone, and errors are reported in words.
  • The navigation menu announces its open and closed state, opens to the keyboard, and closes with the Escape key, returning focus where it started.
  • Type is set in fluid units, so browser zoom to 200% and text-only scaling work without loss of content or horizontal scrolling.
  • Animation honors the "reduce motion" setting on your device. Nothing on this site flashes, auto-plays, or moves on an uninterruptible timer.
  • Interactive targets are large enough to hit reliably on a touchscreen.

Known limitations

These are the parts we know fall short, and what we do about them.

Project documents sent outside this website

Drawings, permit sets, structural reports, and PDFs exchanged during a project are produced in industry CAD and engineering software and are not tagged for screen readers. If you need the contents of any document we send you in an accessible format, or read aloud over the phone, ask and we will provide it at no cost.

No formal third-party audit

This site has been built and reviewed against WCAG 2.2 Level AA by our own team using automated testing and manual keyboard and screen reader passes. It has not been certified by an independent auditor, and we do not claim that it has.

Older content

As pages and project photos are added over time, something can slip through. If you find a page that does not meet the standard described here, tell us and we will correct it rather than wait for a scheduled review.

Why there is no accessibility toolbar on this site

You will not find a floating accessibility button or overlay here. Those tools layer scripted fixes on top of a site instead of correcting it, and they frequently interfere with the screen reader a person already has configured. The controls they offer already exist and work better in your own browser and operating system: zoom scales this site cleanly to 200%, and turning on "reduce motion" in your system settings stops the animation here automatically. We chose to fix the site itself.

Report a barrier

If any part of this site prevents you from finding what you need, tell us the page and what happened. We will get you the information directly while we fix it. We aim to reply within one business day.

You can also reach us through the contact page. We are based in Hudson, FL, and respond during monday - friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
